St. Nicholas is dead. Murdered. And Christmas is about to get very weird.
In Snowy Modern London, St Nicholas’ Daughter Swings Her Battle-Axe at Krampus to Save Christmas
London is blanketed in snow, but behind the twinkling lights and holiday cheer, a war is brewing.
Krampus the ancient shadow of Christmas has returned, hungrier and darker than ever. With each nightfall, he grows stronger, feeding on fear and despair. If left unchecked, he’ll turn Christmas into a season of terror.
When Krampus unleashes his army of twisted minions onto the streets of modern London, hope begins to flicker. Children vanish. Joy crumbles. The city trembles under a chilling curse.
But where darkness reigns, light rises. St. Nicholas’ daughter takes up her father’s mantle, blending ancient magic with modern grit. From snow-swept rooftops to the secret catacombs beneath the city, she will stop at nothing to protect Christmas and humanity itself.
Her battle is more than steel against shadow. It’s a clash of traditions, a war for the very heart of the holiday. And when her axe meets Krampus’ fury, the fate of winter will be decided.

A wonderful book-mystical and modern combined. The characters are endearing, funny and magical. I couldn't put this book down-I was racing to see the outcome but equally didn't want it to end as it was so absorbing! What an incredible book for a first time publisher!

So you order the book and you read it in a day.
The next day you phone for a taxi and a bowl of custard arrives driving a candy-striped 1964 MkIII Zodiac, takes you where you want to go, and only charges you a fiver. You are not surprised.
An outstanding first novel, a page-turner of bizarre originality. Jay shapes mind-bending fantasies in mundane settings; a cheery mythical figure serves tea and biscuits in front of her telly, a magical dog cocks his leg against an ancient monument and a blue whale flies over a dystopian London in a topical tale with more than a hint of disturbing reality.

Hard to believe this is the authors first book. As someone who loves reading urban fantasy and comedy fantasy, this book will sit happily on my book shelves with the likes of Christopher Fowler, Mike Carey, Neil Gaiman and the master himself, Terry Pratchett.
Great characters, lovely visuals without being overly descriptive and a nice little twist towards the end, which I really should have seen coming, but didn't.
Thoroughly good read, I'm looking forward to the next one Jay R :)

As a first-time fantasy author, Jay Bolaky captures the true essence of Christmas beyond modern-day festivities, the hope that bonds us together over a hot fireplace, that keeps the demons at bay when all seems lost, for a taste of roast dinner surrounded by family.
This is done through a blizzard of genre-mashing, with the fantasy adventure centring a hellish crime that carries well beyond possible reality, but lays heavy on the centre of a snow-swept London.
A fantastic short read and first effort by the author, whose imaginative mind shows the remanence of Terry Pratchett in a dark sleigh ride to remember.

Meet Jay R. Bolaky, the man with more lives than a cat! Hailing from the quirky City of Colchester, Jay shares his humble abode with his dynamic duo of sausage dogs, Ottie and Rosie. But Jay’s journey is anything but ordinary.
But wait, there’s more! Jay now dons his NHS cape, working tirelessly to keep the good folks of the UK safely staffed healthy and happy. Along the way, he’s bumped into a kaleidoscope of colourful characters who’ve left their mark on his life.
From sailing the high seas with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary to navigating the tumultuous waters of the Balkans conflict, Jay’s life story reads like an action-packed thriller. He even dabbled in the funeral business, making sure folks had a dignified final voyage. And when the pandemic hit, Jay rolled up his sleeves (well, not literally, he’s got those sausage dogs to think about) to support Colchester’s waste services team.
Jay’s a man of simple pleasures, with a heart as big as Santa’s sack. He’s convinced the world needs a little more kindness, and he’s here to spread it one witty remark at a time. Oh, and did we mention? He’s the ultimate Christmas enthusiast. Santa himself might just be jealous of Jay’s holiday spirit.
So, stick around, because with Jay, every day is an adventure, and every story is a riot. Welcome to his world, where laughter, sausage dogs, and goodwill abound!”
